Welcome to The J Curve

"Our life is composed greatly from dreams, from the unconscious, and they must be brought into connection with action. They must be woven together."
― Anaïs Nin

About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, the creator of The J Curve. Thanks for checking out my site 🙂

So, am I just another girl looking to become insta famous and post half naked pictures for the sake of likes and uncomfortable messages? No, and I hope by now you can see that, but if not keep reading, watching, and listening and you will see it for sure. My desire is to attract you through photos, but my goal is to draw you to my ideas.  I attempt to embody femininity, sensuality, thoughtfulness, strength, and exploration in this blog and in life. The feminine, goddess-like ideals of the strength in beauty, sexuality, and softness can be used to guide our senses to ideas beyond initial interest and desire. In the best circumstances I want you to understand your desires and your aim just as I am continually strengthening  my own. My wish for you and for myself is to discover or reinforce desires, wishes, and dreams and while also revealing what “hell” we find ourselves running from if we fail in our pursuits. These are the things that should be at the forefront of our minds – not Kim Kardashian’s ass, not my ass, and not what ever political drama the media is trying to feed you. Beauty, opulence and sexuality, when displayed/flaunted/shown/oriented for higher ideas, it is not degrading, but elevating. Attraction in all forms guides us. Let’s aim it to something better.

“You do not know what you are missing by your microscopic examination of sexual activity to the exclusion of aspects which are fuel that ignites it. Intellectual, imaginative, romantic, emotional… You are shrinking your world of sensations. You are withering it, starving it, draining its blood.”
– Anaïs Nin

The J Curve is an economic term. It’s represented as a graph with a steep drop below the initial starting point, then then gradually increases far above that drop and the initial point…making a “J” Curve! (Thanks, Ian Bremmer!) When looking at this graph and the massive growth above the starting point, even after the sharp decline I see change that represents confidence, skill, and freedom that comes from realizing the possibility to adapt, to change, and to grow despite the challenges we may face. This graph represents something that is many times so true for me- that the hardest part is usually the start. This graph creates a narrative that I think many people, including myself, can relate to.

Along our journeys, we will encounter climbs, hardships, and regrets, but also success, fulfillment, and purpose. The  J Curve personifies and embraces this as the best of ourselves, the worst of ourselves, and the desires within all of us to aim for the highest, best self. I attempt to embody this as femininity, sensuality, thoughtfulness, strength, and exploration. The feminine ideal of the goddess encapsulates for me all of these ideas and more.
